Modeling of Surface Effects in Massive Rotors of Electromagnetic Brakes

A numerical 2-D electromagnetic brake model is obtained in the Comsol Multiphysics software package. Due to this, the process of changing the magnetic field in the rotating brake rotor is investigated, the reasons for the displacement of currents and the magnetic field to the rotor surface are shown, the graphs of current and magnetic field distribution along the rotor depth are given, it is shown that the electromagnetic field in the rotating brake rotor differs from the classical surface effect (varies not according to the exponential law), although there is an outward similarity.
