Power Sharing in Droop Controlled Microgrids

Reactive power sharing control in MicroGrid (MG) is an important research topic because it avoids both overloading in inverters and guarantees more stability. Droop is probably the most spread primary regulation control for MG, it is easy to implement, communication-less and reliable. This paper will analyze with numerous simulations the role of line impedances and coefficients in the sharing. Indeed, it is well known that these variables are very important to determine the reactive power sharing. From these results it emerges that simulations are an indispensable procedure before implementing actual MG in order to verify proper reactive sharing, proper voltage and stability. Some behaviors are extracted, in this way it is possible to have a better handling of the problem.
