Levelized Cost of Electricity with Degradation of 10 MW Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Power Plant in Kalwakurthy, India

The Total Renewable energy share of India is 70 GW as till on June 2018, out of 70 GW power 21.8 GW comes from SPV plants which are grid connected. In this paper, the grid-connected Shining sun solar photovoltaic (SPV) plant, Kalwakurthy, Telangana having a capacity of 10 MW (AC) & 11.1 MW (DC) which is operation since November 2015 is studied and analyzed. This paper evaluates various parameter such as performance ratio, cumulative utilization factor of the array. These parameters are calculated using namely Excel sheet. The monthly performance ratio obtained from the practical data varies between a range of 82% - 89%. The plant site is evaluated by using the generation data from the January 2017 to December 2017. Levelized cost of energy (LCOE) has also been calculated for the plant during the year 2017. Apart from this, the plant is studied for the degradation of the module. Degradation analysis is important in photovoltaic(PV) modules to monitor the performance of the PV system. PV module degradation over the spine of time, for calculation of the results such as 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%, 0.8%, 1%, 1.2%, 1.4%, 1.6%, 1.8, 2% degradation is considered.
