Productivity Improvement of Duct Workshops in the Modular Systems Division at BK Gulf LLC

The main goal of this study is to assess the productivity of a new pre-insulated duct workshop in comparison with its current galvanized iron workshop. This has been accomplished using a set of industrial engineering tools and methods such as survey to identify the main problem areas, and apply from-to and flow charts, cost break down structure, and life cycle cost analysis for each workshop. Finally, a C++ optimization program is written to help in calculating scrap in a production line in a substantially less amount of time than if traditionally done. All these resulted in faster throughput times, increased output from the machine, and a better awareness of each workshop. This means that the company is more productive, proficient, and achieved overall positive path in their endeavors, as well as saving on material spending which will furthermore contribute environmentally by reducing the amount of material wasted and scrapped to produce a particular amount of duct. In addition to this, this study would have fulfilled a role in aiding society in understanding the differences between pre-insulated and galvanized iron duct and their perks.
