Quarter vs. Half Car Model Energy Harvesting Systems

The main aim of this work is to evaluate and compare the harvested power from piezoelectric-based energy harvesting system for the quarter and half car models. Both cases are modeled and examined using MATLAB/Simulink. The analysis is done in both time and frequency domain approaches. The obtained results show that the output voltage and power of half car model are increased by 77.4% and 57.3%, respectively, when compared to the quarter car model.
