A consideration on spectrum forming and interference mitigation by Gaussian windowed OFDM

This paper discusses a spectrum shaping technique for OFDM systems. To realize dynamic spectrum sharing and enhancing spectrum efficiency, out-of-band emission and side-lobe of the spectrum should be reduced. In this paper, Gaussian window function is utilized to mitigate out-of-band emission. Generally, BER performance is degraded because of the window function, therefore an improvement technique using guard interval is considered. BER performance and power spectrum density of the OFDM signal are evaluated to show the effectiveness of the proposed technique.
