Design of Wide-Band Dipole Antenna for Digital TV Broadcasting Application

This research presents the design of wideband dipole antenna. A simple printed dipole antenna structure is investigated for its wideband radiation performance by using slot etching and matching technique to improve the impedance bandwidth. In the simulated and measured results, the proposed antenna is explored to cover the DTV frequency band as 66.5 7 % (463-925 MHz). The wideband dipole antenna radiates omni-directionally throughout the operating frequency band. The proposed antenna has the antenna gain of 2.34 dBi with reflection coefficient less than -10 dB. Therefore, the proposed antenna is very much compatible to digital television signal receiving applications.
