Power System Network Contingency Studies

Power system studies such as load flow analysis, fault analysis, and device duty check are essential to ensure the possible problems and challenging scenarios that can happen in the system. This paper presents scenario configurations consisting of normal and abnormal conditions of Taylor's University's Electrical Distribution System (TUEDS) using Electrical Transient Analysis Program (ETAP). Abnormal conditions include under voltage buses, overloading of cables, equipment, and protective device rating, and low system power factor. Solution techniques such as adding capacitor banks and load shedding were considered to bring the system to normal operating conditions for various system configuration and contingency situations.
