Experimental Analysis of Three Phase High Power Electric Furnace Systems

This paper presents the detailed analysis of different power quality parameters of electric furnace system consists of three phase delta connected conventional AC chopper. The analysis included in this paper is based on detailed experimental and simulated investigations carried out on such systems in industrial environments. The three phase delta connected thyristor based AC chopper systems are being widely deployed in high power electric furnace/heating chambers in various industries. Although a large number of papers have been reported in this area in the available literature, yet the important issues related to power quality performance of such systems are not fully explored.
