Control of Solar Power based Soft Switched Boost Converter for PMBLDC Motor Drive

This paper deals with the design and analysis of zero voltage switching (ZVS) based quasi resonant step up converter (QRSUC) used in photovoltaic (PV) power based permanent magnet brushless DC (PMBLDC) motor for driving fan load of humidification plant. The solar power-based humidification plant for space cooling is an attractive solution to curtail load demands on grid supply system or to feed remotely located loads. An electronic commutation based PMBLDC motor control under variation in solar irradiation is used. The MATLAB based simulation environment is used to model the control of proposed QRSUC based PMBLDC drive and simulation results are shown for validating the proposed concept under variations in operating conditions.
