Development of System-On-Chip Based Digital Control for Power Converter Application

Development of digital controller requires the control platform to achieve the desired performance. Implementation of the complex algorithm needs the high computation accuracy, faster and real-time calculations, monitoring and data logging. This paper discusses the different controller platform like DSCs, DSPs and FPGAs including their subunits required for the PCC. FPGA based unit is used to test the control component employed and then the final application specific processor can be designed for the same. Employing the high-end control platform also increases the cost as it is underutilized. In order to improve this DSCs can be used to develop the SoC for low and medium end applications.
