Comparative Analysis of Thermal Performance of Cooling Circuit for Marine Engine

In the energy and environmental contexts related to yield improvement and loss reduction, the use of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) with the ANSYS Fluent simulation code of the various thermal and hydraulic parameters components of the marine diesel engine cooling system was conducted in the interest of identifying the most stressed components in this circuit. This study gives a comparison of several thermal parameters relating to the heat exchange and the pressure drop between two main thermal systems of engine cooling circuit which are supercharging air cooler, responsible for charge air conditioning and the Multitubular heat exchanger fresh water/sea water. Results show that the supercharging air cooler is more efficient.
