Challenges and Solutions in Motion Surveillance - A Survey

In the past years, Video Surveillance is being an attractive area of research. Its application includes variety of areas such as security, animal movements in city side, vehicle tracking, combat vehicle, satellite, robotics, automation etc,.This method of surveillance consists of mainly three steps namely object detection, tracking and object recognition. While doing so we encounter so many challenges. Some of them are background intensity changes, handling complex background, occlusions, background clutter, camouflage .This paper survey about various issues and the techniques to overcome such problems. Some of the problems highlighted are detecting objects with complex background, abnormal event detection, partially occluded or fully occluded objects, Problem of Object deformation and effective tracking and intensity changes.
