Automation of FMET Testing

Electronic control module (ECM) is main part of the engine which is continuously measure performance of engine by using inputs from different sensors and accordingly it takes the action with the help of actuators. So it is necessary to test the signals continuity of various sensors and actuators by ECM software through fault mode effect tests (FMET) before testing on actual engine. The manual FMET testing is time consuming and also there is more manual efforts required. Thus to overcome these drawbacks, the test sequence is developed in proposed system by using automation tool known as NI-TestStand. This tool is used to make manual FMET testing automated with the help of Digital FMET box load Box User Interface System (LUIS) engine simulator instead of using actual engine.
