Performance Analysis of Space Time Block Coded MIMO System Concatenated With M-PSK And M-QAM In Different Channels

In modern wireless technologies like 4G LTE, WLAN, WiMAX, bit error rate (BER) performance is key parameter in data communication. Multiple Input Multiple Output system (MIMO) provides required transmit diversity along with better spectral efficiency. This paper presents the system model and algorithm developed for 2×2 Space Time Block Coded (STBC) MIMO system concatenated with MPSK and MQAM, value of M ranging from 2 to 64 in Rayleigh, Rician and Nakagami-m fading channels. The results of 2×2 STBC with M-QAM and M-PSK show that Bit Error Rate (BER) performance improves by minimum 33% in Rayleigh, 66% in Rician and 50% in Nakagami channel.
