New method for obtaining Peak Value R and the duration of each cycle of Electrocardiogram

The amplitude peak R and the duration of each cycle need to be known to be able to diagnose the condition of the heart. The value of peak R is the highest value of each electrocardiogram cycle as a result of depolarization of the ventricle muscle. Peak R-value is mainly to find out the presence of ventricular hypertrophy while the duration of the cycle is to determine the presence of arrhythmia and heart rate. Limitations of information on the value of amplitude and duration of cycles results of examination of the heart condition caused the manual calculation using ECG paper. This study aims to obtain the amplitude peak value of R following the duration of the cycle in each cycle of lead II using the PQRST algorithm. Determination of the threshold value of the result of discrete electrocardiogram plotting observation will obtain the maximum amplitude value, which is referred to as peak R. The duration between the peak Rn position and the peak Rn + 1 position is the cycle duration to n (dn). The heart rate value can be obtained by multiplying 6 from the total peak R for 10 seconds. The program application results indicate that the value of the peak R and the duration of each cycle can be presented by entering the threshold value. The results showed that a 10-second check for A250-A001 patients had 14 peak R, which means having a heart rate of 84 bpm. The lowest peak R-value is 1,907 mV while the highest value is 2,119 mV.
