Optimal configuration of the hybrid energy storage system for reducing the amount of discarded photovoltaic

With the development of industry, more fossil energy is consumed to generate electricity, which increases carbon emissions. To reduce carbon emissions, renewable energy generation systems such as photovoltaic system are being used. However, the randomness and volatility of photovoltaic will affect the stable operation of power system, which results in a large number of photovoltaic is discarded. The energy storage system has the characteristics of flexible control and fast response, which can help the power grid to increase stability. In this paper, five-point estimation Method is used to disperse photovoltaic output. A hybrid multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm is proposed, which introduces the Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm of elite strategy combined with the probabilistic power flow. The optimal location and capacity of the energy storage unit can be found by minimizing the operating cost of the system and improving the voltage distribution. Finally, through the case analysis of the IEEE-30 node system, it is proved that the optimized configuration can reduce the voltage offset, reduce the operating cost of the system and reduce the amount of the system discarded photovoltaic. The economic advantage of the hybrid energy storage is also verified.
