Design and Development of EMG Controlled Prosthetics Limb with the Self-Charging Capability

Over the past few years, the prosthetic arms have improved much but they are out of the reach of a common person due to their high cost. The aim of this study is to reduce the overall cost of the prosthetic arm as well as increase its reliability by making it less dependent on the conventional power source. The designed EMG sensor in this study is made using easily available components in the market and its cost is ten times lesser than the market price. Moreover, the commercial prosthetic arm is dependent on the conventional power source. The use of smart devices is on the rise as they are convenient to use. For charging the battery of prosthetic arm, the piezoelectric generator is used to produce energy by walking. Piezo generator will fully charge the battery during a walk of one and a half mile for the working of a prosthetic arm.
