Use of Slab Geometry in Fusion—fission Hybrid Reactor for Sub-criticality Calculations

World is facing issues regarding waste management of fission reactors and this idea of fusion-fission hybrid reactor is very attractive solution of waste burning with evolution of fusion energy. In this paper, concept of clean nuclear power plant is proposed which is done by burning all high level waste, it include transuranic (TRU) isotopes in a fusion-fission hybrid reactor and FP region. Fusion based TRU burner reactor (FTBR) is proposed which contains fixed power tokamak and ring shaped annular TRU core with metal fuel. The power level of TRU core is set to be 2000 MW. Small tokamak geometry with a plate type core is designed to observe TRU and FP transmutation. Sub-criticality calculations were done. Simulations were performed using SuperMC and flux was calculated as a function of energy and spatial variation. Long lived radionuclides were transmuted into short lived ones.
