Microstrip Antenna Array for Next Generation WLAN 802.11ac Applications

A wireless system that employs electromagnetic wave needs to be designed well enough, so its payload does not loss in its transmission between the transmitter and receiver. One of the most important things in wireless system would be an antenna system. In this paper, we proposed a microstrip antenna array to be applied for next generation WLAN. The feeding is designed by variations of technique transformer ¼ λ to produce the impedance matching. And using technique proximity coupled combination by a fork-like tuning stub for achieving the required bandwidths. We are also using array technique for increase gain. From simulation we have return loss below −10 dB, Gain 7.19 dBi, VSWR less than 2, bandwidth 1196 MHz with frequency center at 5.8 GHz and from measurement bandwidth 900 MHz with at 5.6 GHz, compact dimension 10mm x 15mm.
