Reconfigurable Dual Notched Band UWB Antenna

In this paper, UWB (Ultrawideband) antenna with switchable dual notch band is presented. UWB antenna is modified to dual notch band characteristics to mitigate interference with existing wireless communication system (WiMAX: 3.30GHz-3.80GHz and WLAN: 5.150GHZ-5.825GHz). Notched bands are obtained by etching C-shape slot on radiating patch resulting in WiMAX and inverted T-shape stub is also embedded on radiating patch to notch WLAN band. PIN diodes ate used to reconfigure proposed antenna with combination of different state of switches. Antenna exhibits stable radiation pattern in principal planes (dipole like pattern in E-plane & omnidirectional pattern in H Plane). Propose antenna also exhibits good time domain analysis with compact dimensions of 18×21mm².
