The Development of University Website using User Centered Design Method with ISO 9126 Standard

An organization's website is one of its most important assets. It can be used as a media campaign, either in the form of goods or services. State Islamic University Syarif Hidayatullah websites function as bridges between public and the university to deliver information regarding the academic activity and accomplishment. Based on questionnaires and interview conducted on respondents, it identified that the usability scale of State Islamic University Syarif Hidayatullah website is 55.60%. This research proposed a User Centered Design method by applying ISO 9126 standard to improve the website usability value in the assessment aspect of understandability, learnability, operability, and attractiveness. The result shown, that our proposed design obtained usability value of 81.9%.
