Effect of Oscillatory Water Flow on the Performance of Photovoltaic Thermal System in Summer Condition

The performance of the photovoltaic panel is highly dependent on the temperature of the photovoltaic module. In this work, experiments were conducted on photovoltaic thermal solar panels to find the factors that should improve the performance in comparison with the normal photovoltaic panel. The oscillatory design was used for circulation of water at atmospheric temperature. The heat from the photovoltaic panel was extracted by circulating water, to protect the photovoltaic panel from excessive heating. The experiments were performed to evaluate the performance of the thermal photovoltaic and photovoltaic panel. In the experiments, few parameters were measured, such as a rise in water temperature, the open circuit voltage, the surface temperature of a photovoltaic panel and the photoelectric conversion efficiency of thermal photovoltaic and photovoltaic module. The overall percentage gain in thermal efficiency was recorded at 2 %.
