An Energy Efficient Broadcast Technique for Static Wireless Networks Using Mobility

Broadcasting, a method of simultaneous transmission of a message to all the recipients in the network. This broadcasting operation involves high energy consumption and is viewed as costly operation despite its numerous applications. As such, energy efficient methods of broadcasting are much sought after and this paper describes two such alternative techniques that were proposed and tested. Of the proposed two techniques, one involves introduction of mobile nodes in the network that were dedicated purely for broadcasting purpose. In the second approach, the nodes were grouped into various clusters and each cluster has been assigned with a mobile node that has been dedicated for broadcasting the message to that group.
