The Wave Propagation Characteristics of the Plasma Sheath Were Analyzed by COMSOL

In this article, the propagation characteristics of electromagnetic wave in non-uniform plasma sheath are studied by using COMSOL, a commercial software based on finite element method. The transmission coefficient of inhomogeneous plasma sheath is calculated by using plane electromagnetic wave as excitation source. This paper discusses the influence of plasma electron density on the electromagnetic wave propagation when the spacecraft re-enters the atmosphere. The calculation results provide theoretical basis for solving the problem of “black barrier”.
