Development and Verification of Various Formats of Functional Blocks Libraries as a Part of the Design Flow for FPGAs

At present, within the framework of ensuring technological independence, more and more domestic FPGAs began to appear on the Russian market. Each FPGA should be provided with a computer-aided design system and its own software environment. An important aspect for increasing speed of the development and modeling integrated circuits on the FPGA in this design flow is the presence of libraries of functional blocks. The development and verification of functional elements libraries is an extensive time-consuming task. An architecturally independent design flow based on the experience of using foreign software products was developed by IPPM RAS to support new FPGA architecture types. The purpose of this work is to review the library formats used and to describe the process of their development and verification. We also show the steps of an architecturally independent FPGA design flow using our own CAD system.
