Optical and Electrical Control in Printed Circuit Board Manufacturing

Quality control is increasingly important in printed circuit board manufacturing to be sure that electronic equipment is reliable.Under the circumstances, optical and electrical methods were here applied to test printed circuit boards.During electrical control, a flying probe test revealed such typical discontinuities in the electrical circuits of printed circuit boards as open circuit defects and short. According to the tests, the discontinuities were caused by such defects as etching, foreign inclusions and the reduction of the distance between conductors, as well. Both optical and electrical approaches to control the quality of printed circuit boards are able to make the system of quality control much more efficient.
