Dynamics Modes of Traction Linear Induction Motor with Different Winding Circuits

In this paper the effect of various winding connections on the dynamic characteristics of a linear induction motor (LIM) is considered. The problem is solved by the finite element method for 2D formulation. The effect of the transverse edge effect is also taken into account by the Bolton's coefficient. As a result of the work, conclusions have been made about the degree of influence of the windings connection on the tractive effort and on the duration of the transient process occurring in LIM.
