Tilting Advisory and Prevention (TAP) Device for Bicycles

TAP device is a bicycle accessory prevents the biker from falling with the use of indicators and preventive features. The device involves the computation of the tilting angle with respect to the ground as it considers the speed while the tilting occurs. The researchers used the theories on centrifugal force and banking and curves calculations as basis of the study. The speed, tilting angle and road slope are used in the design of tilting advisory which includes a prior notice to the biker to prevent the biker from falling using an accelerometer. It also includes a preventive mechanism to cause a gradual decrease in speed of the bicycle using a DC motor to pull the brake cable to cause friction with the rear wheel thus decreasing the speed. TAP device ensures the safety of the biker, although reflexes take part, considering the speed and the titling made while in the track.
