True Random Number Generator Using Bio-related Signals in Wearable Devices

Random number generation (RNG) is the most important factor in a security system. Various RNGs are introduced for efficient and unpredictable random number generations, but a separate hardware is required to generate unpredictable random numbers, and efficient software-generated random numbers have low security. In this study, we propose an RNG which can generate unpredictable random numbers by utilizing bio-related signals embedded in wearable devices. The random numbers generated by the proposed structure are verified for excellent security through NIST test suite.
