Energy efficiency of decode-and-forward full- duplex relay channels

This paper studies the energy efficiency (EE) of a decode-and-forward (DF) full-duplex (FD) relay channel. Particularly, the residual self-interference (RSI) and the extra circuit power consumption introduced by the imperfect self-interference cancellation (SIC) in the FD operation at the relay node are modeled as two linear functions, respectively, over the relay transmission power. Under the above setup, the EE maximization problem for the considered DF FD relay channel is formulated and solved by a max-min technique, and then the corresponding optimal power allocation is also obtained. Finally, numerical results validate the analysis.
