A New Style of an Academic Institutions in Iraq: e-University

According to the great impact of technology on various fields, especially education, educational institutions are moving towards finding the means to help students learn flexibly. Perhaps the most prominent of these means educational platforms that serve as an educational environment. The objective of this study is to develop a successful e-university platform aim to enables students to access learning resources in any Time and from any place by using of information technology and computer networks to support and expand the educational process through a variety of means, including computers, the Internet and electronic programs prepared by academics specialized in the domain of education, which in turn leads to an increase in the numbers of learners who cannot be absorbed by traditional universities. The result of implementing the proposed e-university system is providing a flexible educational platform that supports the university environment and encourages interaction between students and faculty members. After reviewing the previous studies, the criteria to determine whether the educational institutions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research have the ability to implement the e-university have been determined, those criteria are: (Technology developments, Quality, physical elements, software and human capital of the university in addition to the tools used in the design of educational materials and the environment of the university).
