Status of EMC standards

The EMC Society (EMC-S) is involved with many areas of technology related to EMC. One of the most important is the creation and maintenance of EMC standards. These range from standards that define test methods to standards that define test levels for immunity to standards that simply educate engineers on aspects of EMC. To many people, standards seem to be mysterious, as if they arise from magical or miraculous origins. In reality, standards are developed by diverse groups of engineers and stakeholders gathering in IEEE standards Working Groups to find common ground. Working Groups do have face-to-face meetings, but in today's electronic age, more and more of them are holding meetings by webinar, allowing a much wider range of participation. All Working Group meetings are open to any who want to attend, so if you see a standard here that interests you, you can join in on the action!
