Business Management System for Genomics

Genomics includes the sequencing, analysis, and interpretation of genomes through uses of high throughput sequencing equipment, bioinformatics, and genetics to assemble, analyze, and interpret the function, structure, and variation of genomes. Advances in genomics have triggered a revolution in research and clinical therapeutics to facilitate understanding of the complex biological systems and diseases. The genomics business process is a complicated procedure that involves sample information enrollment, sample collection, sample transportation, sample verification, nucleic acids extraction, library construction, sequencing, analysis, interpretation, data release, and etc. Additionally, a genomics sequencing center generally provides services for thousands of research and clinical customers, handling hundreds of thousands of samples, which is a hard task for business management. Therefore, in this paper, we give the design and implementation of a business management system which facilitates the communication with customers, automates the business process, and enhances the work efficiency.
