Research and implementation of fieldbus reliability

Flexibility of constructing redundant control system is one of the main features of Foundation Fieldbus (FF). Based on the protocol of FF, levels of component redundancy are discussed in detail, and an instance of an FF based control system with redundancy is analyzed. The analysis indicates that FF is flexible for configuring a redundant system which plays an important role in completely improving the reliability of a control system.
