Multi-area Scheduling Model and Strategy for Power Systems with Large-scale New Energy and Energy Storage

At present, there have been many studies on the application of energy storage on the power supply side and the user side, but studies on the multi-area coordinated scheduling for the new energy and energy storage on the power grid side are still in the initial stage. Therefore, this paper focuses on the application and analysis of energy storage on the power grid side. Based on time sequential simulations, this paper establishes a long-term multi-area scheduling model for the coordinated operation of new energy sources and energy storage in the power grid, and proposes the optimal coordinated operation strategy for new energy sources and energy storage in different scenarios. Based on the data of a provincial power grid in China, the model and scheduling strategy established in this paper are tested. The test results show that for power systems with large-scale new energy, the introduction of energy storage can not only improve the integration level of new energy, but also reduce the total coal consumption level of the system.
