An Adaptive Gaussian filter for merging JICA and MOST DEM

The high resolutions Digital Elevation Models (DEM) of JICA and MOST are from LiDAR technology in the Chao Phraya River basin, have different resolution and data format. The aim of this project is to merge JICA and MOST together to ease data usage in various DEMs of areas and to aid development for any applications. An Adaptive Gaussian Filter (AGF) is a suitable merging method for JICA and MOST, such purpose with less than consuming by processing in a faster format. The result is smooth and continuous because of the effect of weighting distance from central pixel value to its surroundings. The resulting merged DEM (AGF) was found to differ from those of JICA and MOST by approximately 0.247 m. And the average overall accuracy of the watershed area from AGF compare with JICA and MOST was 83.96%.
