A Perturbation Method for TM Scattering from a Conducting Strip Buried or Right on the Interface between Two Dielectric Half-Spaces

A simple and efficient method is presented for electromagnetic scattering by a conducting strip buried or located right on the two-media interface. A surface equivalence principle which considers the interface as a scatterer, is employed to form a set of coupled integral equations. The perturbed equivalent electric currents representing the dielectric interface are expressed in terms of the difference in current with strip present and the auxiliary solution with strip removed. Data for the induced current on the strip, the equivalent perturbed electric currents and the far-fields are presented to validate the method.
