Using an Adapted Differential Evolution Algorithm to Generate Flat Optical Frequency Combs

The generation of Optical Frequency Combs (OFC) by a Dual-Parallel Mach-Zehnder Modulator (DPMZM) is discussed. An adapted Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm is proposed in order to identify optimum input parameters for the modulator so that flat OFC can be generated with a certain number of comb lines. OFC with up to 25 lines are simulated and the algorithm results are discussed.
