3D Printed Hybrid Rigid-Flex Coaxial-Like Transmission Line Structures

In this paper a new rigid-flex hybrid technology is introduced which combines flexible Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP)film with 3D printed metal coated plastic rigid shells to form novel microwave and millimeter wave components. Hollow membrane like structures can be formed which leads to low-loss designs. A simple coax-like transmission line and a novel low-loss bandpass filter are demonstrated.
