Single-feed dual-excitation slot antenna for the LTE tablet device

The dual open-slot antennas for the metal-casing tablet device with tiny clearance area are presented. The antenna has a narrow width of 2 mm with a single-feed dual-excitation source (SFDS) which is located between the metal frame and metal back case of the tablet device. The antenna consists of two open-slot radiators (slot 1 and slot 2) with two filter circuit embedded individually that can generate two wideband LTE operations to cover the 698-960 and 1710-2690 MHz. By adjusting the values of the filter circuits which can make the impedance of the antenna become smooth variations to excite the desired modes. Two proposed antennas (MIMO antennas) are arranged on opposite directions and set on different long side of the device to avoid the hand touch effects.
