A Simple Tri-Band Proximity Coupling Fed Compact Antenna for 2.7GHz, WLAN and Sub-6GHz Communication Applications

A simple multi-band antenna is proposed for 2700MHz, upper WLAN and sub-6GHz fifth generation wireless communication applications. The proposed antenna is fed by using a proximity coupling fed structure to excite two spiral strips. The feeding line is a 50-Ohm microstrip line, and the two spiral strips are set at both sides of the feeding line. There is a partial ground plane at the bottom of the FR4 substrate. The designed antenna is created by using the HFSS, and the simulated results from the HFSS show that the antenna has a good triple-band characteristic and an omnidirectional radiation pattern at these three operating bands.
