Compact Circular Polarization Antenna Based on Slot Structure for UHF RFID Handheld Reader

This paper presents a compact planar slot antenna with right hand circular polarization for radio frequency identification (RFID) handheld reader in the UHF band. The dimension of overall antenna is 70mm × 70mm × 9mm. Simulated results indicate that the proposed antenna has a peak gain of 4.1 dBi and an axial ratio under 2dB with in the band of 920-925 MHz. The antenna is suitable for China UHF RFID system.
