Wind Power Assessment In Algeria; Methods Development

the objective of this study is to develop a new method for estimating average wind power as a function of the rated power, average wind speed and average temperature at ten sites in Algeria: Adrar, Ain Salah, Arziw, Blessed Saf and Bordj Badji Mokhtar., Hassi R'mel, Mascara, Oran, Timimoune and Tindouf. After the evaluation of the average wind power of ten wind turbines with rated power range from 150kw to 3600kw, the new method was concluded from the results obtained by the histogram method; The new method is convenient for desert sites with all types of wind turbines, while in the Mediterranean areas. This method can be used with an acceptable margin of error.
