Methodological Approaches to Multi-Process Modeling of the Lifecycle of Automated Control Systems

This article justifies wording of the task of modelling the relation of core and counter processes in a lifecycle of process control systems. Review of a process basis of modelling the relation of such processes unveils main relation between these processes. For this, decomposition of the end-to-end process in the life cycle of control system is executed; The following processes are separated: organizational processes that reflect a relation of controlling bodies regardless of means of control, organizational-technical processes that reflect relation of controlling bodies considering means of control, and technical-technological processes that reflect relation of means of control. Within such classification it is proposed to identify main, supporting, and auxiliary processes. This approach to the representation of the structure of processes can also be applied to the study of opposing processes. The interaction of target and opposing processes is presented based on a formalized interrelation: “A factor affecting a control system launches various processes within its elements, which lead to changes in their properties, which, in turn, cause changes in the target process in the control system life cycle leading to its degradation”. Interaction at the process level is considered in relation to the main attributes of the processes: the inputs and outputs of the processes, process control, and the resources involved for its implementation. The presented multi-process structure of the end-to-end process in the life cycle of the control system has a high degree of uncertainty, which greatly complicates its analysis and identification of key areas in providing the protection of the core process from the negative impact of opposing processes. An algorithm is proposed for multi-process modeling of a end-to-end process based on object-oriented modules reflecting the operation of the control system in the form of a multi-directional interaction of the elements of the end-to-end process taking into account the main attributes of the core and counter processes. The proposed methodological approaches provide the ability to identify significant areas of negative impact on core processes in the life cycle of the control system and justify proper prioritization of protective means.
