The Furnace for Burning Waste Wood Processing Industry

Effective use of wood waste is currently an urgent task. An increase in the consumption of wood raw materials entails the formation of a significant amount of bark, chips, sawdust unfit for processing, and causes the need for their utilization or storage. To the fullest extent, this refers to hydrolytic lignin - a waste of plant raw materials processing in hydrolysis and biochemical plants. The most expedient and economically justified at the moment is the direct combustion of hydrolytic lignin in boiler furnaces, for the production of electric energy and heat. Based on the low-temperature swirl combustion method, a combustion device has been developed that allows burning of hydrolytic lignin without torch lighting with high efficiency and reduced emissions of gaseous pollutants into the atmosphere. With reference to the TP-35U boiler of the biochemical plant, using the developed methodology, algorithm and calculation program, a quantitative assessment of nitrogen oxide emissions was carried out when introducing a low-temperature swirl method. Numerical studies of the combustion process on the model of the reconstructed boiler have confirmed high technical, economic and ecological indicators of the energy use of hydrolytic lignin in the developed combustion device.
