Highly Efficient Mechatronic Modules with New Types of Electric Machines for General Industrial Mechanisms and Metallurgical Objects

The classification scheme of new types of electromechanic modules based on synchronous reluctance machines is given in the article. Methods of experimental research showed that the electromechanic module has a mathematical model similar to a DC electric drive. A mathematical model of the “electric drive-semiconductor converter” complex is developed. The optimization of the “engine-converter” complex is performed. The article shows that in the development of new types of electromechanic modules, the optimal forms of phase current and the number of phases can differ from traditional (sinusoidal) ones. Thus, in reactive electrical machines in the power range from 500 to 1000 kW, the most rational is the number of phases greater than 6, and the shape of the phase current has a rectangular shape. At the same time, the efficiency of the mechatronic module improves approximately by (20-25)%.
