Reactive Power Optimization Coordinated Control Strategy of the Large-Scale PV Power Station

In order to solve the problem of voltage limit caused by various disturbances of PV power station, the PV power station should have the capability of reactive pressure regulation. At present, PV power stations usually operate at a unit power factor to output as much active power as possible, but there is a waste of apparent power when there is no full power operation. Based on the analysis of the reactive capacity of single PV inverter and the relationship between reactive power and voltage of PV Station, a reactive power optimization coordination control strategy for large-scale PV Power Station is proposed. The control strategy uses the PI controller to achieve voltage-free control, and coordinates the reactive power compensation device and the reactive capacity of the inverter to provide voltage support for the grid, and optimizes the reactive power distribution of the inverter according to the reactive line loss. The simulation results show that the control strategy can ensure voltage stability and reduce line loss in PV power station.
