Berth Allocation Considering Fuel Consumption and Turnover Rate in the Mooring Period

As the container port has been playing a more and more important role in the international supply chain, a mixed integer nonlinear and multi-objective programming model is proposed for the discrete berth allocation, considering the fuel consumption of vessels in the mooring period and the turnover rate of berths. On one hand, based on the linear relationship between the fuel consumption of auxiliary machine and the mooring time of the vessel, the total mooring time of vessels in the planning period is regarded as the economic level. On the other hand, the completed time of the last departure vessel is introduced as the level of turnover rate of berths. In addition, an improved genetic algorithm is designed to solve the model. Experimental results not only demonstrate the validity of responding algorithm, but also indicate that the economic level can be improved by reducing the fuel consumption in mooring period, and the turnover rate of port can be also improved from a practical perspective.
