Influence of Accessibility of Cities along the Shi-Wu High Speed Rail Based on Generalized Weighted Travel Time

This study aims at analyzing the accessibility change of cities along Shi-Wu high-speed rail (HSR) line. We made an empirical study on the influence of Shi-Wu high-speed rail on the urban accessibility change along the way through weighting average travel time method and the generalized weighing travel time method. The two scenarios are set as with and without the advent of Shi-Wu HSR. Then we make a serious comparison about accessibility between these scenarios. It is found that if we consider travel time as the only factor, the accessibility of cities with HSR stations will be improved significantly. However, if the high price of the construction and operation of HSR is taken account in, there will be only slight improvement in accessibility.
